Dormitory Bed Allocation and Information for Overseas Chinese and International Students

  1. The list of newly admitted students’ bed assignments is provided in Attachments. Overseas Chinese and international freshmen who wish to forfeit their assigned bed, or who are unable to sign the “Dormitory Agreement”to comply with all dormitory regulations and bed adjustment measures, must notify the Office of International and Cross-strait AffairsOICA by August 20, 2025 (Wednesday).
  2. Dormitory check-in procedures for overseas Chinese and international freshmen will be coordinated and assisted by the OICA. After moving in, students must sign in with the Dormitory Residents’ Association of their assigned dormitory and sign the Dormitory Agreement in order to complete the check-in process. When checking out, students must follow the required procedures, clean and restore the room to its original condition before the security deposit will be refunded.
  3. Bed assignments are for one academic year (including both fall and spring semesters, excluding winter and summer breaks). Except in cases of graduation, suspension, withdrawal, or transfer, the NT$1,000 security deposit will not be refunded. Students who fail to move in or withdraw mid-semester for personal reasons will forfeit their deposit (those who have not paid must still do so). Refund regulations for dormitory fees are as follows:
    1. Students approved for accommodation who apply for withdrawal before or on the semester start date may request an updated payment slip and will be exempt from dormitory fees.
    2. Students who apply for withdrawal after the semester start date but before one-third of the semester has elapsed will receive a two-thirds refund of the paid dormitory fee.
    3. Students who apply for withdrawal after one-third but before two-thirds of the semester has elapsed will receive a one-third refund of the paid dormitory fee.
    4. Students who apply for withdrawal after two-thirds of the semester has elapsed will not receive any refund.
  4. Other Important Notes:
    1. Room assignments are managed by the Housing-Service Section. Residents are not permitted to privately exchange or substitute bed spaces. Violators will have their dormitory eligibility revoked. Approved residents may only use their assigned bed. Any vacant bed in a room may be reassigned by the Housing-Service Section at any time, and current residents may not object. Unauthorized use of a bed will be handled in accordance with the “Dormitory Living Guidelines and Violation Regulations” to maintain order and peace.
    2. Before checking out, residents must completely clear their room (including bed, desk, and wardrobe), clean it, and place trash in designated areas. Failure to comply will result in deductions from the security deposit based on the “Regulations for Payment and Refund of Security Deposit for Student Dormitory.” In addition, according to Article 4, Clause 3 of the “Student Dormitory Regulations and Violation Handling Guidelines,” residents must complete check-out and move out before the announced deadline. Those who fail to do so will have their deposit deducted. If the resident has not moved out within 5 days, dorm staff may pack and temporarily store belongings in the storage room without taking responsibility for safekeeping. If unclaimed within another 5 days, items will be treated as abandoned, and the student’s right to apply for dormitory accommodation within one year from the check-out date will be revoked.
    3. Dormitory accommodation does not include winter and summer breaks. Students wishing to stay during these breaks must apply separately according to regulations.
    4. For dormitory facilities and fee standards, please refer to the Housing-Service Section / Student Dormitory Introduction on the Office of Student Affairs website.
    5. Please review the Dormitory Q&A prepared by the Housing-Service Section in advance.
